There’s nothing quite like the sensation of buying a brand new car, is there? The gleam of the freshly-buffed paintwork, the purr of a pristine engine, that impalpable aroma of an immaculate interior.

Unfortunately, while we’re pretty sure we can recreate every other aspect of a vehicle, not even our dynamic duo of Dario Franchitti and Allan McNish can nail that “new car niff” for Simraceway players.

What we can do, however, is make it even easier for you to get behind the wheel of a new ride. So we’re happy to announce that, in response to driver demand, we’ve added PayPal, the world’s largest online payment provider, to our list of payment methods.

Simraceway Announces Official INDYCAR Game

by John on April 24, 2012

When we announced our beta in November, we listed some of the features our players could look forward to. One of those was the hosting of reproductions of renowned, real-world series on the Simraceway platform. Well the time has come to unveil our first virtual series—and it’s a biggie!

Earlier today we officially announced that Simraceway has reached a deal with INDYCAR to produce a brand new IndyCar video game.

This landmark agreement allows us to feature all the teams and tracks from not only the current IZOD IndyCar and Firestone Indy Lights seasons, but future ones too—and we intend to make the most of the opportunity, doing these celebrated sporting events complete justice and taking the racing game genre in a whole new direction.

Dario prepares to shake down the virtual DW-12 after climbing out of the real one.

Simraceway Car Pricing Explained

by John on March 22, 2012

We’ve mentioned our car pricing policy a couple of times on this blog before but, now we’ve launched a variety of vehicle types, we thought it was a good time to spell out how we arrive at each car’s price tag, as well as expanding on just how much value-for-money that represents.

We spent a long time looking at various possible pricing models, including those of existing driving games, but we couldn’t find anything that gelled with our two key values of affordability and authenticity. So we went back to the drawing board and developed a unique model that not only reflects our focus on realism but also represents flexibility, transparency, and simplicity for our players—a system that keeps our prices in line with real-life values and allows players to choose cars to suit their circumstances.

Everyone at Simraceway would like to congratulate Allan McNish on his sensational victory in the 12 Hours of Sebring on Saturday!

Allan’s expert handling of his Audi R18 TDI on its final competitive outing comes less than a week after his successful shakedown of our virtual version of the 2011 Le Mans-winning racer at the Simraceway Performance Driving Center, and the car’s stunning triumph in Florida, set in motion by his first-lap pass, has elevated Allan into the top three drivers in the event’s sparkling 60-year history.

Simraceway Welcomes Allan McNish

by John on March 14, 2012

With Sebring only a few days away, we’re proud to announce that one of the world’s greatest endurance racers has signed up to the Simraceway team.

Double 24 Hours of Le Mans winner and three-time American Le Mans Series champion, Allan McNish is helping us perfect Simraceway’s sports car physics, adding his vast expertise and experience to a team that already contains fellow Scot Dario Franchitti and is still benefitting from Dan Wheldon’s awesome legacy.

There can’t be a better-placed driver in the world than McNish to nail the realism of cars like the one he’ll be driving at Sebring on Saturday, the awesome R18 TDI, and that’s something he got straight to work on upon joining up.

However, as well as helping us ensure we keep Simraceway’s in-car authenticity ahead of the field, Allan will also be playing a central role in our efforts to help out real-world drivers too.

You may even have sampled the first product of our historic union with the legendary British marque: the iconic M6GT.

Well we’re proud to announce that our latest release from McLaren’s illustrious back-catalogue is another icon, albeit from a very different era.
