In 2010 BMW Motorsport announced the new GT3 version of their Z4 sports car, a new customer race car that was created to compete in both international and national GT3 championships. It’s powered by a 500-bhp, 4.4-liter V8 which, combined with its new “quick shift”six-speed sequential box, has turned it into a truly remarkable racer.
Under normal circumstances you’d have to take our word for that, given its scarcity and $400,000+ price tag but, luckily for Simraceway players, the BMW Z4 GT3 is the subject of this week’s Test Drive Tuesday.
Based on the already-impressive road-going version of the car, the Z4 GT3 completed its first real-world test drives at the start of March 2010 and gained great popularity among its BMW Motorsport customers.
In an early review of the car, Mario Theissen, Director of the fabled M Division, explained the thinking behind the track-bred Z4: “This sports car rounds off our product range and offers drivers and teams the opportunity to compete in championships in accordance with the GT3 regulations–such as the FIA GT3 European Championship, the International GT Open, or the ADAC GT Masters–as well as at 24-hour endurance races.” Racers around the world were certainly appreciative of the opportunity to add the race-ready Z4 to their armory–and now you can too!
To test drive the Z4 GT3 today, all you need to do is log in to the Simraceway game client and download the car during the offer period.
Oh, and if you find you don’t want to hand the keys back at the end of the day, you can purchase the car at a massive 30% discount and keep it in your garage for a thrash whenever you desire.
