When we announced the exciting news about our new INDYCAR game last month we mentioned that we would be launching an exclusive range of preview content in anticipation of its release. Well with the 96th Indianapolis 500 taking place on Sunday, we’re proud to announce two very special additions to Simraceway’s glittering line-up as we build up to the big event.
For starters, our players can look forward to a brand new circuit to race on. It’s the first oval to feature in the game, and where better to start than with the daddy of them all? That’s right, we’ve added the one-and-only Indianapolis Motor Speedway to our growing selection of free-to-race tracks. The 103-year-old circuit, which has hosted the Indy 500 since its inception in 1911, has been built using laser-scanned data so you can enjoy a completely authentic Indy experience.
And what’s the sense in offering the most famous INDYCAR circuit if you haven’t got an IndyCar to race on it, right? Well that’s exactly what we thought, so we’ve also released our exclusive 2012 IZOD IndyCar Series car. Based on the all-new DW12 chassis, it’s capable of reaching 60 mph in a mind-boggling 2.5 seconds—and every last drop of that performance has been locked into the game thanks to the unrivalled expertise of four-time IndyCar champ Dario Franchitti, who shook down our virtual car during his 2012 season preparations.
